The moment has arrived for Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukherji.

The Yash Raj scion, who was staying at a suburban five-star hotel for a long time due to differences with his parents is back in his parent's home but on one condition that they don't interfere in his personal life read Rani Mukerji.

The entire problem started with Yash and Pamela Chopra's disapproval for Rani as they didn't want their son to break-up with his wife Payal but the DDLJ director didn't gave in to their demands... and still dating the queen bee.

He apparently wanted Payal to move out of the house before he returned home. Though Pam still does not like Rani much, but has had to bend because she could not stay away from her son.

But what about poor Payal? She gets a settlement, worth more than Rs 20 crore we hear, besides a plush spacious in Juhu, close to Sanjana Kapoor's Prithvi theatre.

With everything else falling in place, Adi is finally filing for a divorce. His married life of five-odd years is headed nowhere, they have told the family court in Bandra. The mandatory six-month cooling-off period required after filing a mutual consent divorce petition will get over this May for the producer.

It took three joint meetings with their lawyer for the two to set their divorce process in motion.

Their lawyer advised them and they agreed not to mention the terms of settlement in the court documents, opting instead for an out-of-court arrangement.

Yash Raj Films owner Aditya Chopra’s marriage is on the edge of divorce. He has filed a case for separation from his wife Payal Khanna. He is married to Payal five years now. It is a mutual decision and he claims that his marriage is only for namesake, heading nowhere. They opted for an out of court arrangement. The divorce process is expected to go smoothly as there are no children involved.

Aditya’s family loves their daughter-in-law very much and they were not happy with his decision. Though Payal will not remain Aditya’s wife legally, they will give her all the comfort that she deserves. Her bank balance has been saturated with enough money and she has been given a spacious home in Juhu so that she can spend her life peacefully and does not face any monetary problem.

No valid reason has been known for their separation. But sometime back, Aditya’s association with Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee has hit the headlines. Rumors also buzzed that they were engaged but both of them had declared it baseless. However, reading all the stories of Aditya and Rani, no one can deny the fact that something is cooking between them. So time will tell whether Aditya’s conjugal break up with Payal is due to his growing relationship with Rani or not.

The heir of Bollywood badshah, the son of Yesh Chopra, Aditya Chopra has begun the proceeding of getting divorce from his wife Payal Khanna. The two are married for the last five years, but for more than a year they were living almost separately. Aditya moved out of his father’s house and was living in a five star hotel for the last many months.

The maker of one of the most successful film Dilwale Dulhaniya Lejayenge, Bunty Aur Babli and very recently a blockbuster Chak De India, Aditya of late has been in news for the wrong reasons. There were news of his alleged romantic liaison with the leading leady of India cinema Rani Mukherjee. Rani has denied the rumours and so has Aditya, but rumours remain doing the rounds.

In Bandra court the couple have filed for the divorce saying that both have irreconcilable differences and so can no longer live together. The law makes it mandatory for a couple filing for a mutual consent divorce to live together for next six months.

The people who are close to the Chopras say the family is not happy with the decision of Aditya Chopra and they have expressed their anguish as well against the move. They also say that even despite the divorce Payal may continue to live with Aditya’s parents as they have been treating her as their daughter.

Bollywood is buzz with anxiety but not rumors, and this time it's about movie Moghul Yash Chopra's son Adi aka Aditya Chopra and tinsel town's reigning bee queen Rani Mukherjee. Though this has been the talk of the town earlier too, yet the matter seems to have ripened now. After all, Aditya is already married with his once beloved Payal Khanna. Aditya's father Yash and mother Pamela are lying low at present when their son has already sought divorce from Payal, contrary to their wishes because they owe a lot to Payal inasmuch as she has designed their most modern studio in Mumbai. So, they wish her to stay with them. They have helped her have a posh house and a good sum to take care of herself, as she has no child. While Yashji who owns a Rs 10 billion empire is too worried following the reported divorce proceedings between his son and daughter-in-law, his wife Pamela says that there is no cause for such an anxiety as the father and the son wouldn't do anything to displease each other, what may come. That's why she is keeping mum on the Aditya-Rani affair but denies any report of any ceremony including the roka usually held before the marriage and

widely reported in the media.


Rani's family also scotches rumors of any kind of rokka ceremony. Then, the million-dollar question arises as to how these reports originated. According to industry circles, the rumors of affairs between Rani, a Chopra camp favorite and Aditya started during the making of 'Veer Zara'. In any case, Aditya's mother Pamela admits that their son's happiness is of paramount importance to them. In the same breath, she is prepared to welcome the entry of Rani who is equally dear in their family. She says, "Rani is a sweet girl, and I am also close to her mother." Neither Aditya nor Rani has ever confirmed the report of their affair or their future plan to marry.

However, there are reports that Aditya is back in the old trade in which he is a master. It's been eight years since he last directed the blockbuster 'Mohabatein'. But, his directorial debut 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' created a sort of record as Bollywood's longest running movie, which is running in its 13th year. And now Aditya is ready to direct his third film. After directing his second film, 'Mohabbatein', back in 2000, Aditya had taken a conscious break from direction to set up and studio model making Yash Raj Films a name to reckon with. In the following years, Yash Raj Films, under the keen eye of Aditya, produced blockbusters like 'Dhoom', 'Dhoom: 2', 'Hum Tum', 'Bunty Aur Babli', 'Salaam Namaste', 'Fanaa' and 'Chak De India'. While Aditya was the creative producer in all these films, he also wrote his father 's directorial venture 'Veer-Zaara' in 2004, as well as the stories of other films. And, with the few flops in 2007, Adi wore the director's cap again for his third directorial venture, which is titled 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi', and will star the topmost star Shah Rukh Khan. Hopefully, 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' will once again be a hit for film audiences. Significantly, Aditya is considering to cast a new girl opposite SRK in 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi'.

Will it be Rani if she is married with him is somebody's guess? The film will be written and directed by Aditya and produced by Yashji. With its shooting starting in May the movie is scheduled to release by the end of 2008. Maybe that's the reason for Aditya to marry Rani, probably in May when the mutual consent petition filed by him after their five-year old marriage will get over. They have agreed to their lawyer's advice not to mention the terms of settlement in the court documents, opting instead for an out-of-court arrangement. Why does Aditya want to divorce Payal though he married her following love and not because of arrangement by their parents? It is said that Aditya's marriage started falling apart about two years ago. In the first half of 2006 he almost moved out of his house after his return from the outdoor shoot of Karan Johar's film 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' into a five-star hotel. And, he returned home when Payal decided to move to Singapore for sometime so that Aditya would return home and work.

The heir of Yash Raj Films, Aditya Chopra who has had an estranged relationship with wife Payal Khanna since two years, has filed a mutual consent petition for divorce and is already serving the mandatory six-period cooling-off time. In fact, the filmmaker’ legal divorce is due in three months. Aditya who has been married to Payal for five years moved out of his parents’ home in 2006 after they expressed their unhappiness over his decision to divorce.

The filmmaker had put himself up in a five-star hotel in Mumbai after he came back from the shooting of KANK. He moved back to the family home only last week after his parents realized that Aditya was not planning to change his decision during the cool-off period.

Meanwhile Yash Chopra and his wife who are very much attached to Payal have bought her a swanky apartment in Juhu and are very much in touch with her.

So while Aditya Chopra, the man who’s given us romantic flicks like DDLJ, may have his way in getting a divorce, it seems unlikely that the filmmaker will be able to drive a Bollywood Queen (Rani) straight into the Yash Raj parivaar.

Is Rani Mukharjee selfish? He answered me that no. I asked him again why not? He replied that it is a common thing in showbiz all over the world. He also told me that Rani is intelligent about her career. That’s mean Rani is considering his first marriage for developing her career. Adi is currently not living in the family home with Payal; he is staying at a five-star hotel. He is also busy with traveling for location hunting for his upcoming films. Rani Mukherjee and Saif Ali Khan are slated to act in a Yash Raj film to be directed by Siddharth Anand.
