Lewd Nana shocks Tanushree Dutta!

"We've been through hell, and back. My car is smashed to pieces due to mob fury. But what has happened to my dignity and selfrespect and my identity as a woman are irreparable," the shaken actress said on Thursday afternoon.

It all started when Tanushree was approached to do an item song for Rakesh Sarang's Horn Ok Please.

"I made it clear to the producer director and choreographer Ganesh Acharya that I'm not a run-of-the-mill item girl. I was very particular about my clothes and movements. We rehearsed for nearly a week for the song. And now they're saying I was uncooperative and not ready to rehearse."

What awaited Tanushree on the set was four days of horror. "From the start I wasn't comfortable with Nana Patekar's presence. In fact after the first day of shooting I told my mother something didn't feel right there.

Nana had just three words O yara re in the song. Still he insisted on being around throughout. That was fine. He's the film's hero and it's his prerogative. But then he started acting hugely aggressive.

Instead of the choreographer Nana started showing me the steps. I don't know since we has become an expert dancer."

Tanushree made her displeasure at the actor's intervention very clear. "A couple of times I pushed his hands away when he got too close for comfort. But it didn't seem to make a difference to him.

He continued to direct my steps roughly and aggressively. Things got really out of hand when Ganesh incorporated steps where Nana could get physically close to me."

That's when the actress chose to walk off the set and locked herself up in her van. "Not for three hours, as they reported on the tv channels. But for 90 minutes.

They called up Mr Pehlaj Nihalani to intervene and he told them to change the steps if being a girl they made me uncomfortable. I finally came out of my van…only to be told they won't change the steps. Why? Was it Valmiki's Ramayan that every word had to be faithful?

I think the poroducer, director and choreographer had decided to teach me a lesson. They threatened to call the media on the sets and proclaim I was uncooperative. I didn't know how serious they were. Nana apparently had left by then."

Tanushree decided to leave too. "But my car with my parents in it was surrounded by hordes of tv journalists. When they couldn't get a sound bite from me they pushed themselves into the front seat of my car.

When that didn't work they began banging on the windshield with their cameras. My parents and I were trapped inside my car.

Anything could've happened. We frantically tried to call the producer and director. They had both switched off their mobiles."

Finally someone had the presence of mind to inform the cops. That's when Tanushree and her parent's nightmare ended.

The Duttas have lodged an FIR against those who allegedly attacked them in her car at the Goregaon police station.

"What I want to know is, where was the security at Filmistan studio when I was attacked? Where was the producer and director?

They've wasted no time in replacing me with Rakhi Sawant for the song and labeling me uncooperative. But why did they realize how unprofessional I was on the fourth day?

Can they get others in the film industry to accuse me of undisciplined behaviour? Or did they think they could mess with me and manhandle me just because I'm a girl?"

The story goes like this; Tanushree was signed by the makers of HORN OK PLEASE for an item number with Nana Patekar, who plays the lead in the movie. It seems the pretty actress started throwing tantrums from the very first day. Right from the rehearsal on the first day she had some or the other issues, as per the reports in the media. Even the makers of the movie reportedly revealed that she was well informed in advance about the item song. But once they started rehearsing she objected on a few dance steps. These dance steps required the dancers to touch her, but she claimed that Nana Patekar and other crewmembers were touching her inappropriately. read more

Two days after she refused to shoot a raunchy item song for film Horn Ok Please , actress Tanushree Dutta explains the reasons behind her action.

Tanushree has been at the centre of a controversy regarding her fallout with the unit of ‘Horn Ok Please’ and her fracas with the media on Thursday evening.


In a media interview, Tanushree has revealed her side of the story.

According to Tanushree, the film’s leading man Nana Patekar showed more than casual interest in the song even though he had just three words in the track. Tanushree says Nana’s presence during the rehearsals made her uncomfortable.

The actress says at first she did not mind because Nana kept his distance. But then Nana began showing her the steps she should do in the song. Tanushree alleges that at times Nana came so close to her that she had to push his hands away.

And when choreographer Ganesh Acharya decided to incorporate Nana’s dance steps into the song, the steps in which Nana had to touch and fondle her, Tanushree says she lost her patience and went to her vanity van and refused to shoot.

That is when, according to her, the film’s producer and director called the media and told them that Tanushree was acting unprofessional.

Responding to Tanushree’s accusation, Nana Patekar says she is like “a bachchi” to him. He says that being the film’s leading man he had the right to be on the sets during the rehearsals.

The film’s director Rakesh Sarang, producer Abdul Siddique and choreographer Ganesh Acharya are siding with Nana and accusing Tanushree of being “unprofessional”, “egoistic” and having “an attitude problem”.

The song is now being shot on Rakhi Sawant instead.

It is wise to keep your mouth shut if you have nothing to say in your defense but mostly people don't speak when they are afraid of the repercussions.

So what really happened on set of Horn OK Please at Filmistan Studio, Wednesday, March 26?

We think Bollywood has a plot for its next pot boiler, because we smell a stink!

The TV channels are gleefully reporting that Tanushree has been booted out of the film. and replaced by Rakhee Sawant.

One channel, that we monitored yesterday evening, encouraged Ms Sawant to bad mouth Tanushree and espouse the virtues of the press for good 15 minutes. We cannot recollect when the Chief of the Army Staff, who is responsible for the security of our nation, was allowed 15 minutes of air time.

Good lord! They could get no one better than Rakhee Sawant to speak about the virtues of the press!

In its report a national news agency, without bothering to report on the sequence of events, said a member of Tanushree Dutta's security detail molested a press reporter.

The report actually wants us to believe that in the middle of the fracas the man had a surge of hormones and turned uncontrollably randy and began to molest a female reporter! To us it sounds like concoction of a delirious mind.

What is clear to us is that the press, including the national TV channels, are out for blood. Not the blood of a serial killer on the loose or a top ranked terrorist. They are after the blood of Tanushree Dutta, all of 24 year-old and 5' 7."

We reported the incident based on what our photog saw yesterday, hours after the incident occurred. We are sticking by our report because we have no reason to believe our report was inaccurate.

Going by what we know, Tanushree Dutta has a right to say no to any physical contact that she considers inappropriate, no matter who is making it or if it occurs in an item song.

She should not have been booted off the sets. Instead, the matter could have been resolved with more sensitivity - skin colored clothes, for example.

Forcing an unwelcome physical contact is tantamount to outraging the modesty of a lady and we have a problem with it.

If the modesty of press reporter was also outraged in a related incident, that too is reprehensible to us.

We think the press needs to be fighting two battles here. One for Tanushree Dutta and one for the reporter whose equipment was damaged / modesty outraged. We don't think Tanushree Dutta should be condemned for what her father or a member of the security detail did.

However, we don't know all the facts. Like we said before, we just smell a stink.

Tanushree Dutta has dissociated herself from director Shona Urvashi's film Saas Bahu Aur Sensex.

Dutta has finished shooting for the film but will not promote it in the days to come. Reason? Dutta and Urvashi had a fall-out because Tanushree was labelled a dopehead by Urvashi!

Our well-placed source from the unit revealed, “Urvashi started acting up on the sets. She started behaving very strangely. She went on to tell some people in the unit that Tanushree was another Parveen Babi. She even said that Tanushree is on drugs. Naturally, Tanushree was furious.”

When contacted, Dutta admitted that she did not enjoy working on Urvashi's film. Tanushree said, “We were told to keep the film a secret and not talk about it at all. But I was not treated well and if you are asking me, I have no qualms in telling you the whole story.”

According to Dutta, the story goes that Urvashi had a problem with her. Tanushree added, “I was horrified when she went around saying that I am doped out and that I am another Parveen Babi. How could I take that? To tell you the truth, we were shooting in Pune. I left the sets and came away to Mumbai. I didn't want to shoot any further. After that, Warner Bros (the producers) came to me and assured me that I will have no more problems. However, she did not change her behaviour.”

Tanushree further told this paper, “Now, Urvashi is spreading tales that I gave her grief while shooting for the film. She is telling the media that we shot in Mauritius and I abandoned the shoot there. That's not true. The entire film has been shot in Pune.”

When contacted, Urvashi said, “I never said anything about Tanushree.” Tanushree shot back, “Urvashi is lying. I have had a terrible experience while shooting for Saas Bahu Aur Sensex .”

Tanushree Dutta, who is now in the limelight for her first international film ‘Rama the Savior’, has claimed that the kind of actions scenes she has done for this film has never been done by any Bollywood heroine!

Whether it is Zeenat Aman in the original ‘Don’, Piyanka Chopra in ‘Drona’ or Sushmita Sen in ‘Samay’ none have equaled her feats, says Tanushree.

How far her claims are true can only be ascertained after the film is released. But as of now, we bring to you the excerpts of our recent conversation with this sexy Bengali star.

Q: Tell us something about you forthcoming film ‘Rama the Savior’.
A: I am very excited about this film and at the same time, I am happy too for I have done many action scenes in this movie.

Although I sustained injuries during the shoot at times, overall it was very enjoying. As far as my character in the film is concerned, I do not have the permission to tell anything in this regard.

All that I can tell you right now is that I am doing the role of an action lady in this film, which will be released some time later.

Q: We have heard that you have claimed to be the next action heroine of Bollywood..
A: Yes, you are right. If the audience accepts me in this film, this will be a fact as I feel that very few heroines have done this type of action in their films.

Anyways, these days it has become a trend for the Bollywood heroines to do actions scenes in their films.

I am not aware which heroine has done how many action scenes in their films, but I can vouch that no one has done the number and kind of actions in their respective films that I have done in ‘Rama the Savior’.

Q: Please tell us in details about the kind of action scenes you have done in this film.
A: Generally, Bollywood heroines either slap someone or may even box the villain. But in this film I have done different action scenes – boxing while air-borne, jumping from altitudes, underwater stunts and the likes.

To make it easier for you to comprehend, let me tell you that in this film I have done actions scenes like the girls did in the Hollywood flick ‘Charlie’s Angles’.

Normally, actors take a minimum of two moths’ training to perform such scenes, but since the time was short, I trained just for two weeks before giving the shots. At the same time, I took some training in Twaekondo too.

Q: Among so many action scenes, which was the most thrilling?
A: (Thoughtfully) As far as I am concerned, I think that the underwater stunts were the best and most thrilling. It is a great experience to go deep down into the sea and see you amidst the aquatic animals.

While performing these action scenes I often felt that I have lost my breath! Well, a reason for this could be that I don’t know swimming.

Q: Have you done any action in real life?
A: Actually, I have not had enough scope to engage in action in real life. When I was at school, I used to go for the camps organized by the school and there we learnt trekking, rock climbing as well as jumping from altitudes.

However, I never participated in adventure camps as these required someone to accompany you and none of my friends had any interest in this kind of camps.

Q: There are a lot of kids in ‘Rama the Savior’. What was your experience working with them?
A: It was a great experience working with those children, who were decent as well as knowledgeable. Apart from the kids, in this film we have also acted with animals and this was the first time I saw a python from close quarters.

In addition, there were chimpanzee and other kinds of animals in this film.

Q: What was more dangerous – working with kids or animals?
A: As I have already said, the kids were very decent. But they were very naughty and made a lot of commotion on the sets. (Laughingly) That way, working with kids was more dangerous, as the poor animals would be sitting idle when there was no work.

There was special protection for them to avoid any harm to these animals.

Q: Did you find working with children easy or a difficult proposition?
A: Look, kids are after all kids and they were up to some or other ‘masti’, but everything they did was under strict discipline.

And among these kids there were few who have long experiences of working in the industry and some of them have been in the profession even before me. They used to be naughty on the sets, but with me they were decent and polite.

Q: Would it be correct to say that the gates of the international film industry have opened before you after this film?
A: Everything will depend on what response the film gets from the audience after its release. But yes, I am happy to be able to do something new. I had accepted this film because it gave me an opportunity to do a lot of action scenes.

Q: So, should we conclude that this film has been able to realize your dreams?
A: Look, there is a saying that wishes never die as they are related to your dreams.

A new desire takes birth after the fulfillment of one wish. Yes, my wishes of doing action scenes have definitely been fulfilled, but now I have another dream – to perform the role of a drug addict or a psycho.

Q: Which actresses have influenced you most to do such kind of roles?
A: I have immensely like Madhuri Dixit’s acting in ‘Zindagi Ek Jua’ where she portrayed the role of a drug addict.

While Urmilla Matondkar’s role as a psycho was the best in ‘Pyar To Ne Kya Kiya’. I definitely like their acting, but I don’t want to be influenced by them. When I get a role like this, I will do it in my own style. Rajnee Gupta

Tanushree Dutta says she had no choice but to slap a man who misbehaved with her at an event in Bangalore, and she says doesn't regret it.

"I didn't speak about it because so much has been written about my best friend Koena Mitra and I, and our experience in Mumbai on New Year's Eve. But what happened to me in Bangalore on New Year's Day takes the cake. I wouldn't wish even my worst enemy to start a New Year in this manner," said Tanushree.

Koena was attacked by a stalker inside the Sahara Star Hotel on New Year's Eve after she had performed there.

In Tanushree's case it all started when the actress, who recently featured in Good Boy, Bad Boy and Speed, was invited to perform at the Garuda Mall in Bangalore for an event sponsored by Arvind Mills and Lee.

"I knew the organisers. So I gave up the chance to be with my parents, who've recently moved from my hometown Jamshedpur to Mumbai to be with me, and flew to Bangalore on New Year's. Little did I know what horror awaited me there!

"The security at the mall was practically nil. And there were thousands of people there. I was petrified because I was unaccompanied. On being assured that I'd be safe, I began to move to the stage. But on the way some guy broke the cordon and held my hand. I responded instinctively and slapped him hard."

Tanushree doesn't regret turning violent.
"A girl, whether in the industry or out of it, has to protect herself. In our film industry I've realised actresses are not respected at all. On top of that I've this hot and sexy image. But I was wearing jeans and a top on New Year's Day.

"I was covered from head to toe. I was still attacked. I hate it when the moralists argue that some women 'look for it' by dressing provocatively. That's another reason I kept quiet about the incident."

There's another reason too for Tanushree's silence.
"Those organisers of the Bangalore event haven't paid me yet. I thought they eventually would. But it seems they have no intention of doing so. I now got to know that the same people have also been less than fair with Bipasha Basu and other actresses. At least these other actresses didn't have to spend their New Year day in an alien city all alone stranded at the airport."

That's what happened to Tanushree that evening.
"After the fiasco at the event, I refused to go on stage again when the organisers asked me to. Come on, just because I'm an entertainer it doesn't mean I don't have any dignity!

"I insisted they take me straight to the airport. They dumped me there and left. There I was, alone. And my flight, which was to leave at 11 p.m., got delayed by two hours. So I finally reached home at four in the morning."

Tanushree's trauma raises the whole question of actresses and their safety at live events.
"The security at these events needs to be beefed up drastically. Not that I ever feel secure in public. No matter where I go, I always feel unwanted eyes following me. It's a dirty world out there," Tanushree can barely contain her disgust.
