Bollywood Ness : New rules of Bollywood

When Shahrukh Khan steals the show in a movie with no romantic ditties, no heroines and an unkempt, contemporary look, and the movie is even declared a BO superhit, it is safe to conclude that mainstream Bollywood has grown up.

Bheja Fry, Metro, Eklavya, Just Married, Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd, Chak De! India and others have broken Bollywood stereotypes. Some of them have even managed to become major commercial successes.

Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra, who's rewritten new rules with each of his films and is now working on Khoya Khoya Chand set in the 50s-60 s, exclaims, "Indians go to see movies like poor people... like they've never seen anything like the hero's rich house and the heroine's glamorous saris. But, there is a new Indian on the block who wants quality and consistency , and we're there to make films for him."
