I Love You too, Deepika to Ranbir
Deepika Padukone stumped everyone at 53rd Annual Filmfare Awards ceremony when she left with friend-turned-beau Ranbir Kapoor. We hear that they are not just back together or dating but very much in love too.
Ranbir was overheard telling Deepika, "I love you" while the two were backstage during the award ceremony to which Deepika's whispered and shy response was "I love you too".
After the award function, both of them headed for Farah Ali Khan’s party, where they held hands, stuck to each other through the night and even kissed.
Earlier this month, talking to press, Ranbir claimed that his relationship with Deepika was platonic.
"We have been friends. Then she was busy with her first film's release and I was busy with mine. Recently we were shooting in Australia and became friendly again. She's an amazing, caring girl. I enjoy spending time with her," he was quotes as saying
The Kapoor lad, who has frequently been spotted on dinner dates with Padukone, also explained that, like every Kapoor, he is a foodie too. So he goes out with Deepika to try out everything from lobsters and snails to vada paavs.
But that was history. Post Filmfares the two look very much in love and not trying to hide their feelings either. Our best wishes the cutest couple in Bollywood.

Why Bachchans stayed away from Filmfare Awards?
The entire Bachchan family was missing from the last week’s Filmfare Awards. Sources say Shah Rukh Khan’s presence could be the reason.
The who’s who of Bollywood was there at one of the most prestigious award shows for Hindi Film Industry on Saturday. But the absence of the Bachchans stood out among the galaxy of stars.
The purported reason for the Bachchans’ absence was that they are mourning the passing away of Amitabh Bachchan’s mother Teji Bachchan, late last year. But the reason looks flimsy because the family was seen in quite a jolly mood at the premiere of bahu Aishwarya Rai ’s film Jodhaa Akbar in mid Feb.
And let us not forget that the entire family had got together in Jaipur in the first week of February to celebrate the birthday of Abhishek Bachchan . It was another thing that the celebrations were cancelled at the eleventh hour after Amitabh Bachchan caught flu.
And if the family is really bereaving, would Abhishek and Aishwarya be seen dancing at the sangeet function of musician Ayaan Ali’s wedding recently?
Sources say that in all likelihood, the Bachchans stayed away from Filmfare Awards because Shah Rukh Khan was the co-host of a significant portion for the show along with Saif Ali Khan .
The family has apparently not yet forgotten SRK’s controversial joke on Big B’s good friend Amar Singh at the Filmfare Awards last year. After a raunchy performance by females on stage, SRK had joked that he could see “darindagi” (beastliness) in Amar Singh’s eyes. It was a remark which Singh did not take lightly and expressed his disapproval.
And since Big B considers Amar Singh as his “brother”, he decided to stay away from this year’s Filmfare Awards on Saturday because Singh was definitely not going to attend the function.
A reliable source tells us that Big B has no ill feelings towards SRK. But he also doesn’t want to hurt the feelings of Amar Singh by attending the show where Singh was “humiliated” last year.
Whatever the case, we think it all is much ado about nothing.

It was left to yesteryear star Kamini Kaushal to describe the pulse behind Saturday night’s 53rd Fair One Filmfare Awards 2007 at the Yash Raj Studios.
Watching masters of ceremony Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan at their irrepressible best, she observed, “These boys are the soul of the show.” And it was true, the Bollywood Badshah and Chhote Nawab with their zany sense of compering set the tone for the evening when Bollywood’s bold and beautiful first walked the red carpet and then, if they were lucky, up the stage to collect the Black Lady for work they had done in 2007.
SRK who won the Best Actor Award for Chak De! India , took home his seventh, which is only one lesser than Dilip Kumar. And Kareena Kapoor, perhaps the evening’s brightest star, got the Best Actress Award for Jab We Met in which she acted with ex-boyfriend Shahid Kapoor. He was conspicuous by his absence. As was Aamir Khan whose Taare Zameen Par got the Best Director, Best Film and Critics’ Award for Best Actor for star kid Darsheel Safary. The 11-year-old boy had the audience in splits and his parents in tears with his acceptance speech before Shah Rukh and Saif hoisted him on their shoulders and carried him away.
Rishi Kapoor, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award from his first co-star, the stunning Dimple Kapadia, was joined on stage by lovely wife Neetu Kapoor. Rishi dedicated the award to her and his grandfather, Prithviraj Kapoor. Then, in an absolute RK Studios moment, his voice choked with emotion, Rishi said he would be proud to see his son Ranbir one day getting the same award.
It was Ranbir’s night, too, as he won the Best Debutant award. There was much bonding between the Kapoor cousins as Ranbir and sister Riddhima and Kareena and Karisma Kapoor cheered lustily for each other. While the new actress in town, Deepika Padukone, was unquestionably the apt recipient of the Best Debutante award.
Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi and Himesh Reshammiya entertained, while Karan Johar made a valiant attempt despite a throat infection with female compere Vidya Balan to upstage Shah Rukh and Saif. But the duo was unputdownable that night. Akshay put on a pulsating performance that included songs from Heyy Baby and Bhool Bhulaiyya , Kareena did a Britney Spears to It’s Rocking and Mauja Hi Mauja , Vivek played the Tapori Aye Ganpat role to the hilt and Himesh revealed his new avataar with Asalam Waleikum .

The 53rd Filmfare Awards 2007 was a Taare Zameen Par spectacle with child actor Darsheel Safary bagging the Critics Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Ishan Awasthi, an 8 year old battling Dyslexia.

He may be Bollywood's Best Bubbly Male, but tonight actor Shah Rukh Khan was acknowledged for his new serious avatar in Chak De India ! The man won the Filmfare Best Actor in a leading role (male) Award leaving behind his co-nominees - Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Shahid Kapur. Having achieved two nominations this year ( Chak De and Om Shanti Om ), SRK stated that every role is close to his heart, and if asked to choose between the two flicks, he really had no preferences. "We're not here to win awards. I only like to entertain, and when I make someone smile I feel happy." Though at his rudest best as host and MC, Shah Rukh was kind in his winning speech and generously thanked the people behind his 'success'.

The girl looked lovely in her Manish Malhotra creation – off white sari and orange blouse. In her thank you speech, she said: I have three people to thank. They are responsible for this. The first is my director Imtiaz Ali, then the producers Ashtavinayak Cine Vision, and third is my co-star Shahid Kapoor. Interestingly, the Best Actor award was presented to her by none other than beau Saif, whom she thanked for presenting her with the award and making her night special.

Stars shine bright at Filmfare Awards night
Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai, where most Bollywood stars have played their parts in movie shoots, saw them playing themselves when they walked through its iron gates and down the red carpet to attend the 53rd Fair One Filmfare Awards 2007 ceremony. It was an evening of glitz and glamour when the denizens of Bollywood showed themselves in their personal best and with expectations.
The function Saturday evening started with the national anthem and then the stage was taken over by Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan as they acted as emcees of the evening with beautiful Vidya Balan playing co-host.
After the announcement of a few technical awards, the colourful function reached its crescendo when the rising star, the energetic Neil Nitin Mukesh, who had debuted with last year’s “Johnny Gaddar”, danced with a bevy of girls to the tune of a song from the movie.
Singer-composer Himesh Reshamiyya rocked as he crooned a few lines from the songs “Aslam Walekum…”, “Jhooth Nahin Bolna…”, “Chakna…” and “Mehbooba…”.
Deepika Padukone in a red sari stopped the hearts of many as she danced to the beats of a number from her debut movie “Om Shanti Om.”
She and a group of boys and girls accompanying her took everybody present down memory lane as she also danced to the tunes of Mumtaz and Sridevi starrers of the yesteryears.
Viveik Oberoi made his sinewy presence felt on the stage as he strutted around in the guise of a street-smart guy as the track from the song “Aye Ganpat…” from the movie “Shootout At Lokhandwala” played in the background.
In a resplendent western outfit, with a hat et al, Kareena Kapoor entered the stage with an assurance of a lady and made everybody dance to her trot as she did a jig and performed from “Maija hi maija…” From “Jab We Met” and “Yeh Ishq hai…”.
Bollywood’s hit star Akshay Kumar came up on stage last and he held the attendees together as everybody gaped with wonder at the spirit in which he strutted around when songs from his recent films like “Bhool Bhulaiya” and “Welcome” played for his benefit. At midnight, his was the most energetic performance.
If the performances by the stars were too eye filling and too awe-inspiring, the comic relief was provided by the emcees themselves to compensate for the absence of comedy acts. Their repartees, asides, indirect innuendos and harmless bantering kept the invitees in splits.
The two Khans, especially, held the fort with as much aplomb as with charm. They walked away with all the appreciations from the gathering.
It was indeed the evening of the Khans, considering that Aamir Khan also walked away with all the coveted awards.

How do you feel being nominated in the Best Actor category? Were you expecting it?
No I was expecting not to get any nomination... It has been many years that I haven't been nominated for awards, and I wasn't thinking they'd start now... On the contrary, I was starting to get the hint that maybe I wasn't award material...I guess I was wrong... which kind of makes it more rewarding; Must mean I did something right as it doesn't happen often...
What makes Namastey London so special to you?
The essence of the film being so real makes it special... the script originated from a story told to me by a friend... and it's all there in the film.... I loved the concept, and the script just added to its brilliance... from the music to the story to the eye opening lines, I think personally, Namastey London will always mean a lot to me, and I'm hoping to you guys too...
Who do you think is your toughest competitor in the category of Best Actor?
Hmmm let me think... Umm probably all the other best actors out there... I tend to just shut my eyes and like to live in my world, if you pay too much attention to everyone else you will never be the Best, you'll just end up competing with the guy next to you all the time!
If you win, how do you intend to celebrate?
Sleep early... get up next morning, train and try harder for the next movie....your awards are never remembered for long so there's no point in celebrating for more than the time it takes you to walk off the stage because already there will be someone there ready to take it off you.

Himesh Reshammiya to perform at Filmfare
Hold on to your breath as Himesh Reshammiya would be performing live at Filmfare awards in Mumbai this Saturday.
He has completed shooting for his portion in Karzzzz in Johannesburg and is returning to Mumbai. Within a few hours of touching the city, he would go straight into Filmfare awards where his new look would be revealed in front of a live audience.
Says a unit member of Karzzzz, "Himesh is demonstrating great energy without showing any signs of stress or discomfort. He has been shooting non-stop for the movie and now without even catching a breather, he is all set to come up with a performance in front of industry big wigs."
He adds, "There is already a great curiosity around his new look and the film in particular ever since the pictures from the film's shoot have been revealed. Now with Himesh personally stopping over in India for a brief stint, there is bound to be high curiosity around his visit."
Himesh Reshammiya would continue to live out of suitcases though. Once done with his performance, he would be taking a flight to Cape Town on February 25. That would kick start the second schedule of Karzzzz which is already being wrapped up with good pace.
Informs the crew member, "Everyone is quite happy with the way film is currently shaping up. Himesh's new lean look is being appreciated too and his weight loss has been an amazing story. We just shot for a song for the film and the chemistry between Himesh and the new girl, Shweta Kumar, has been established well as well. Inshallah, Karzzzz should be most talked about film once the producers decide to announce the release date."
A T-Series film, Karzzzz, also stars Urmila Matondkar, Danny Denzongpa, Gulshan Grover, Rohini Hattangadi and Bakhtiyaar Irani.
Hold on to your breath as Himesh Reshammiya would be performing live at Filmfare awards in Mumbai this Saturday.
He has completed shooting for his portion in Karzzzz in Johannesburg and is returning to Mumbai. Within a few hours of touching the city, he would go straight into Filmfare awards where his new look would be revealed in front of a live audience.
Says a unit member of Karzzzz, "Himesh is demonstrating great energy without showing any signs of stress or discomfort. He has been shooting non-stop for the movie and now without even catching a breather, he is all set to come up with a performance in front of industry big wigs."
He adds, "There is already a great curiosity around his new look and the film in particular ever since the pictures from the film's shoot have been revealed. Now with Himesh personally stopping over in India for a brief stint, there is bound to be high curiosity around his visit."
Himesh Reshammiya would continue to live out of suitcases though. Once done with his performance, he would be taking a flight to Cape Town on February 25. That would kick start the second schedule of Karzzzz which is already being wrapped up with good pace.
Informs the crew member, "Everyone is quite happy with the way film is currently shaping up. Himesh's new lean look is being appreciated too and his weight loss has been an amazing story. We just shot for a song for the film and the chemistry between Himesh and the new girl, Shweta Kumar, has been established well as well. Inshallah, Karzzzz should be most talked about film once the producers decide to announce the release date."
A T-Series film, Karzzzz, also stars Urmila Matondkar, Danny Denzongpa, Gulshan Grover, Rohini Hattangadi and Bakhtiyaar Irani.
