'Taare Zameen Par' shines at Filmfare Awards
The 53rd Filmfare Awards 2007 was a Taare Zameen Par spectacle with child actor Darsheel Safary bagging the Critics Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Ishan Awasthi, an 8 year old battling Dyslexia.
Aamir Khan was adjudged the Best Director for his directorial debut ‘Taare Zameen Par’.
Tabu was awarded the Best Actress in the same category for Cheeni Kum . Shah Rukh Khan starrer Chak De India bagged the Critics Award for Best Film.
It was celebration time for the Kapoor clan when the lover boy of yesteryears Rishi Kapoor bagged the Lifetime Achievement Award. First film co-star Dimple Kapadia presented Rishi Kapoor with the Lifetime Achievement award.
Kareena Kapoor won the Best Actress award for her role as Geet Dhillon in Jab We Met . Ranbir Kapoor got the Best Male Debut award for Film Saawariya .
Metro couple Irrfan Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma got the Best Supporting actor male and female award respectively for the same film.
A R Rahman received the Best Music director for Guru , while Shreya Ghoshal got the Best Playback singer (female) award for the same film.
Shaan got the Best Playback singer male award for ‘Saawariya’ while music director Monty Sharma got the R D Burman award for promising music talent.
Prasoon Joshi was given the best lyricist for song Maa from ‘Taare Zameen Par’, while Imtiaz Ali got the best dialogue award for his romantic comedy ‘Jab We Met’.
