Sanjay Dutt opts out of 'Alibaug'

Sanjay Dutt opts out of 'Alibaug'

Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt has now officially opted out of producer-director Sanjay Gupta 's film Alibaug .

Dutt was earlier supposed to be a part of Gupta's ‘Alibaug’. He has even shot for a small portion of the film earlier.

However later things went wrong and Dutt and Gupta's friendship turned sour. Now Dutt has a full schedule and is longer interested in doing ‘Alibaug’.

Hence he has sent an official letter to Gupta stating that he will not be able to spare any dates for ‘Alibaug’ and hence Gupta could replace him with another actor.

However the release date for ‘Alibaug’ is slated to be April and hence Gupta has very little time to find another actor to replace Dutt and re-shoot his scenes. This no doubt has further deepened the rift between the once good friends.

It all supposedly began when Dutt and Gupta were partners together in White Feather Films.

Gupta would handle all the paper work and formalities in the company. But Dutt got to know that many people who were working for them were not being paid their dues and this lead to a friction between the two friends.

Later Dutt opted out of White Feather Films to start his own production company. It was said that the rift between Dutt and Gupta further deepened when Manyata came on the scene.

Being professional Dutt completed his earlier films with Gupta. However now Dutt no longer feels the need to maintain the farce of friendship with Gupta and hence he has officially opted out of ‘Alibaug’.
