Jodha Akbar’s a brilliant effort

Jodha Akbar’s a brilliant effort

Jodhaa Akbar is a commendable film. Ashutosh Gowarikar cast the film well. He even attended a lot of history seminars to make sure that he didn't get the facts wrong.

The film, being of a completely different genre from the regular Bollywood fare won't attract regular audiences.

When it was screened for the first time for the censor board committee, Ashutosh was a little apprehensive about the name 'Jodhaa' causing controversy. However, he assured us that he would put a disclaimer at the start of the film.

Also, he showed us the certificate from the animal welfare board permitting the use of animals in the film. I don't think the movie deserves the controversies surrounding it.

It's not necessary that events in a film follow a chronological order. I don't think history has been distorted in any way. Every film set against a historical backdrop ought to have different interpretations.

However, Jodhaa Akbar is more of a romantic than a historical film. Apart from being a little long I think the film is a brilliant effort from this director.
